Staking on Lightchain AI allows you to lock your $LCAI tokens in a smart contract and earn yield over time. It's a core mechanism in the Lightchain ecosystem that helps secure the network while rewarding early supporters.

Users who unstake before the staking period ends will be penalized up to 40% of the staked amount

Overview of the Dashboard

Once you connect your wallet, you’ll see a clean, minimal interface with the following key sections:

• Wallet Address Display

• LCAI Balance – Total LCAI available in your wallet

• Staked Amount – How much LCAI you have currently staked

• Pending Rewards – Rewards you've earned and can claim

• Stake Input Box – Enter how much LCAI you'd like to stake

• Buttons for Approve, Stake, Claim, and Unstake

Step-by-Step: How to Stake LCAI

Here’s how to stake your $LCAI tokens using the dashboard:

1. Connect Your Wallet

• Click “Connect Wallet” at the top.

• Choose MetaMask or WalletConnect.

• Approve the connection in your wallet popup.

2. Check Your Token Balance

• After connecting, the dashboard will display your wallet’s LCAI balance.

• This is the amount of tokens available for staking.

3. Enter Amount to Stake

• Use the input field under “Stake” to enter how many tokens you'd like to stake.

• There is no visible minimum, but you must have enough to cover gas fees.

4. Approve the Contract

• The first time you stake, click “Approve”.

• This allows the smart contract to interact with your LCAI tokens.

• Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

5. Stake Your Tokens

• Once approved, click “Stake”.

• Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

• After confirmation, the tokens will be staked and displayed in the Staked section.

Claiming Rewards

As you accumulate rewards over time:

• You’ll see your Pending Rewards increase.

• Click the “Claim” button to withdraw earned tokens to your wallet.

• Confirm the transaction in MetaMask or your wallet app.

• Rewards are added to your wallet instantly upon confirmation.

💡 Rewards are distributed in LCAI and accrue in real-time based on your staked amount and the current APY.

Unstaking LCAI

To withdraw your staked tokens:

1. Click “Unstake”

2. A modal will prompt you to enter how many tokens you wish to unstake.

3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

4. Once processed, tokens return to your wallet.

There is currently no visible lock-up period in the dashboard, allowing flexible access to your tokens. However, keep in mind that unstaking ends reward accrual immediately, and you may be penalized for unstaking before the lockup period ends.
